Youth Offending Team

Keeping confidential information regarding offenders etc, Sitting on mediation panels between offenders and victims & subsequent panels tracking offenders retribution, attending workshops & volunteer meetings / specialist talks

Attending vunerable parents homes that needed a little bit of help and support within the home and family, talking, cleaning, helping with finances, shopping trips, etc. I would also research and introducing other services that may be available to the household

Parental advisor

Working alongside the Laura Mitchell Child Psychology department, I developed a website and maintained a phone line for parents of children with R.A.D – (Reactive Attachment Disorder), maintaining an overseas relationship with the founder of the condition, Nancy Thomas, with her help I was able to learn techniques and recognise signs which I could then pass on to parents that contacted me through my website or by phone, I would also report any findings or conversations I had (confidentiality assured) onto other service users including child psychology services.

Little Theatre

I have enjoyed helping out backstage with props etc and prompting local actors. However my biggest enjoyment is working behind the bar during performances meeting all the colourful people and being part of an amazing group of volunteers

Local Events

Our local community have many festivals and events through Spring and Summer which require many volunteers in different capacities which I have contributed towards. From setting up events to stewarding them and cleaning up afterwards.

I also organise litter picks around the town several times a year

Blogs

I run and maintain a Facebook group page for local residents informing them of any travel issues, weather updates and relevant news, although only a small group it is still increasing in size. I also promote positivety and acceptance on the page.

Influencer

I am an advocate for writing reviews and leaving feedback.

I am not afraid to speak my mind and give an honest and informed review about my experience.

I believe a company can only work well with the information it is provided with whether good or bad and reviews from customers can be a good source of this information.
